Students will explore the expressive properties of sensors to control a variety of outputs such as light, sound, image, video, motors, and other media. The forms and uses of physical computing, computational media, and its application are explored weekly in both a hands on laboratory context, as well as weekly discussions of readings and existing performances. Students will be required to keep a blog and strongly encouraged to keep a sketchbook as well. The final project will be a performance using the device(s) created in the course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
This course is designed to provide students with hands-on experience working with sensors, actuators, and other electronics to design interfaces and outputs for a live multimedia performance.
