Holding to  the tradition, The hosts of the evening were introduced by current  Drive-by coordinator Sonaar Luthra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first topic of the evening was the genesis of the Drive-by, by the co-founders <a href=\"http:\/\/www.begoodnow.com\/\">Christina Goodness<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/meghantrainor.com\/\">Meghan Trainor<\/a> (on Skype).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second part of the event was hosted by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tigoe.net\">Tom Igoe<\/a>, who gave us a history of the tools we&#8217;ve used at ITP, as well as a glimpse into what&#8217;s coming down the pike.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>If  you went straight to the TNO (a different tradition in itself), you can  catch up with how it all happened by watching the video here: ITP 30 Drive-by (quicktime link)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Drive-bys are ongoing and open for attendance to current students and ITP alumni every Thursday 9:30 on the floor.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TNO<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Thursday Night Out is a 15 year-old ITP Student social \ntradition. with very simple rules: Meet at a bar. Blow off steam. \nCommune.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/45750042@N04\/albums\/72157622908259625\" title=\"ITP 30 TNO\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/2612\/4197996171_bb1d34fefc_z.jpg\" alt=\"ITP 30 TNO\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n<p>There are a few more instructions on hosting TNOs, the most important being making the invitation. It wouldn&#8217;t be a proper ITP \nevent if we didn&#8217;t put an on floor show together. Starting on Friday \nmorning, we hosted a 24-hour project development marathon at ITP, open \nto alumni and students. A total of 46 participants worked through the \nnight to bring you a condensed version of the show. Take a look at the \nprocess: <br><br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/45750042@N04\/albums\/72157623032456138\" title=\"1-in-1 (itp 30 show)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/2568\/4197839971_5436ac6dae_z.jpg\" alt=\"1-in-1 (itp 30 show)\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\"><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Friday Night Talk<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p> Marina Zurkow, Leo Villareal, Danny Rozin and Marianne  Petit talked about starting an arts organization from a curatorial  perspective.<br><br>     <\/p>\n\n\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/45750042@N04\/albums\/72157622907998779\" title=\"Friday Night Talk\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/2684\/4197880091_8b6ac7ea88_z.jpg\" alt=\"Friday Night Talk\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/itp30\/archive\/images\/calendar_oct3.jpg\" alt=\"Calendar icon\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saturday, October 3, 2009<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ITP 30 Show<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Twenty four hours after they started, the projectbuilding  marathon ended with the participants setting up a gallery with projects  such as <strong>Cross-Pollination Hats<\/strong> and <strong>BEACON<\/strong>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itp30show.org\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/45750042@N04\/albums\/72157623032512344\" title=\"ITP 30 show gallery\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/2779\/4197863975_9d7d85fe92_z.jpg\" alt=\"ITP 30 show gallery\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\"><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Here are some photos from the gallery event:<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clay Shirky Talk<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Clay Shirky kicked off the events of the day with a very special talk titled: <strong>\u201cEverything I Know About Community I Learned at ITP.\u201d<\/strong><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/45750042@N04\/albums\/72157622908029821\" title=\"Clay Shirky's Talk\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/2760\/4198647706_2ac2fa6314_z.jpg\" alt=\"Clay Shirky's Talk\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pecha Kucha<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>23 Alumni and Students gave pecha-kucha presentations: 20\n slides, 20 seconds on an incredibly diverse set of topics, ranging from\n work they&#8217;re currently doing, to a review of artifacts from 80&#8217;s ITP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The  Speakers were: Andrew Milmoe, Sasha Harris-Cronin, Marta Lwin, Matthew  Chmiel, Mustafa Bagdatli, Cynthia Lawson, Jonah Brucker-Cohen, Daniel  Hirschmann, Bridget Mcgraw, Lee-Sean Huang, Mike Bukhin, Gilad Lotan,  Amichi Amar, Cindy Jeffers, Dimitris Makris, Fred Kahl, Tony Marienthal,  Jonny Goldstein, Mushon Zer-Aviv, Manlio Lo Conte, Mike Ang, Eric  Sokolofsky and Tom Igoe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ITP 30th Anniversary Benefit<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The main event of the weekend was a great big party at \nthe IAC building with cocktails, a big screen show, a walking gallery of\n wearable art, and a Photo Booth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to a great series \nof contributed tribute videos, We had great in person tributes from NYU \npresident John Sexton, Tisch Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell, MIT Media Lab \nfounder Nicholas Negroponte, Artist, Clifford Ross, R\/GA founder Bob \nGreenberg and ITP Alumna, Sharon Chang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The evening culminated in the announcement of the <a href=\"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/redburnsfund\">Red Burns Scholarship Fund<\/a>.
