WHAT IS YOUR THESIS QUESTION? (approx 2-3 sentences)

In order to give your project depth and rigor it is helpful to frame the idea you are exploring as a research question. What is the central question, problem statement, or area of inquiry that you will try to investigate and answer/address? What is the significance of the question? Why does it matter and to whom? Here are some guiding principles we have found helpful in working through your question:

  1. Is it something that you are genuinely interested and curious about?
  2. Is it broad enough that it doesn’t allow for simple factual answers (yes/no responses)?
  3. Is it narrow enough that it can be answered/addressed given the available time and resources?

The central question is: Are you agree with egg freezing? Can women in charge of their fertility rights?  Can man also own fertility rights? As more and more woman in the workplace, they want to delay their Fertility time, but As they grow older, their fertility also declines, in many countries freezing or surrogacy are not allowed, Increasing conflict between reproductive rights and the law.

For women of childbearing age, but they still want to struggle in the workplace, they will be interested in this topic. In addition, some groups with ambiguous sexual orientation or who want to remain single or homosexual will also be interested in egg freezing and surrogacy. They cannot obtain children through natural conception, but they also want to have a genetically related child.

I think this is not a yes or no topic, but because the topic itself is very controversial, there are many people who insist and oppose it, and they all have their own positions and reasons, so I think this is a broad enough topic that not allows for simple factual answers

Also, it’s the topic about fertility rights, people can easily choose to agree or disagree with it, The audience will have a very clear stand.

WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO MAKE? (approx. 3-5 sentences)

  • What form will your thesis project take?
  • How does what you plan to make address your Thesis Question?

I would like to make a ‘C4D egg’,’ Woman whose childbearing time is counted down, and also the ‘voting box’, the audiences can write down their opinions about the ‘fertility right’ and vote for the egg freezing or surrogacy, the voting choice will shape the ‘The appearance of the egg’

As my project is more located in China, I think the Voters and audiences are mostly Chinese, I would like to show the best fertility age curve for women, the harm of fertility to women’s body, the harm of freezing eggs, the harm of surrogacy, etc. After they understand all the basics, they vote on whether they support reproductive rights and leave their opinions and reasons for voting

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO YOU? (approx 3-5 sentences)

  • Why do you want to do this?
  • What is your passion behind this?

From my personal point of view, I am a 30+ woman. In China, there are more and more women like me. They temporarily want to pursue their own lives and careers and do not want to enter the family life too early, but I am also afraid that because of my age, there will be no children with their own genes in the future (in Chinese culture, adoption is not easily accepted by the society). At the same time, there are more and more people in China who are brave enough to face their sexual orientation. They choose to live in their own hearts, but they still want a child. But on the other hand, in China, the law does not allow single women to freeze eggs and surrogate. The time when the former star Zheng Shuang was surrogate in the United States caused a great uproar in the society. Egg freezing is a “regret medicine” for the rich, and the egg is also called It is a kind of commodity being sold, and at the same time, whether children who freeze eggs can grow up healthily remains to be verified. These unresolved issues and social moral public opinion are the reasons why I am interested in this topic.

I hope that by soliciting opinions from everyone, I can show this conflict and try to find the best balance between reproductive rights, social responsibility, and moral public opinion.
