During the break between semesters, I was able to share my current project at the ITP/IMA/Low Res Spring Show 2021

The sharing portion of the show took place in SpatialChat. I set up my presentation area so that I was sharing my screen as I created using ‘Subdivisio!’ to help draw people over.  In addition to sharing my screen, I also had links available to be able to:

  1. View the introductory video on Vimeo.
  2. Create using the p5 sketch
  3. Share your work using an online Google Slides gallery

I think that this plan worked well.  I was able to connect with about a dozen people about my project and had about half of those create pieces and submit them into the gallery.  I also had a few pieces of my own to make it less intimidating to submit. Though I’m sure the ‘Subdivisio!’ experience won’t appeal to everybody, it was really encouraging to talk to some people that enjoyed messing around with it and creating things.

Here is the gallery generated from the evening:

I also had the pleasure of being part of The Coding Train live stream of the show and getting interviewed by Dan Schiffman (a bit of a celebrity moment for me).

My segment starts at about 1:51:46.
