• What does a successful / failed thesis look like for me?

At the very beginning, my plan was very ambitious. I wanted a lot of elements, smooth interaction, and a venue as big as an exhibition hall. In Spring I found a lot of things I couldn’t do. So I slowly began to explore what is my core? What technology can be used to do this? If not, those can be faked.

Successful: A beautiful guidebook. The three parts of order; Smooth interactive interface without lag; A composite portrait of five aligned features; The device itself has a sense of beauty, rich media material.

Failed: Unclear meaning; Monotonous media material; Unexpected bugs; A disordered composite portrait.

  • Discuss your KPIs and plans for user testing

The shell or skeleton of my device is a 45x90cm wooden board. Theoretically, the front of the board would be painted with projection paint, and the projector would display a portrait of a human face. In the middle of the eye line, I would make a hole in the wood and implant a camera. On the back of the board are various cables and computer hosts.

However, for my User testing this time, I will stick an iPad on the front of the board to replace the projector. People hide behind wooden boards, using mobile phones to simulate cameras, and I play the role of a computer. The art guide book, I would also like to have the first edition, to try to see the reading experience.

  • KPIs:

Asking people about their experience of the whole process; You need to calculate the time taken by the whole process; Try different background music. Experiment with portraits of different compositions.
