Things I want:
Some of the audiences start to think or resonating the question that I ask from this project. The project and the concept will be discussed and disseminated in the future. The installation would be able to be invited to participate in exhibitions on critical topics.
Things I don’t want:
For my project:
Audiences are not curious about the meaning behind the project.
For the topic:
It only fostered favorable feelings for mindfulness & meditation practice.
Things I’m okay with:
People just experience the work and come up with different points of view and attitudes.
Things my thesis does for the world:
Point out another perspective on the mindfulness & meditation industry, over-commercialization, market-driven approaches, creating a sense of urgency and desire.
Put forward the worry, the flourish of mindfulness & meditation industry that focus on the self, personal self-help products, will lead to individualism widely affirmed and advocated.
Criticism of society’s non-objective propaganda of the function of mind-body meditation, the lack of study of disadvantage or harm impact, the public’s lack of criticism about the mindfulness & meditation industry.
Expose competition and social Darwinism, intensifying the need for effective anxiety relief, and covering the alienation of labor by capital.
Things my thesis does for me
Learn how to shape and express ideas Explore areas of personal interest Create spatial experiences and enable interaction
Things my thesis does for [especially for those who start to looking for meditation, or in the practice ]
Practice meditation in a guided way, observe themselves, the interaction of the breath, and reflect why they need to pay for the breathing exercise?
