I’ve been looking into AR Audio this week. I found this article as my reference.

In general, I need to design a system to lead an activity. My idea is the activity is set in the near future, where participants are invited to limited space. A voice assistant system will lead the experience. Participants will be asked one question to confirm their states(the questions are yes or no, Participants need to confirm it without speaking). Then the assistant will guide the guide group through one exercise, which gradually increases the level of human interaction. The experience ends with the assistant encourage the participants to make a conversation with each other. Prompting the participants to build a real connection with each other. I’m working on the script.

Since I have no sense of the development process, I will write down all the approaches I found. Really need suggestions.

  • The ideal one is to measure the distance between each person. Then the distance change will trigger different instructions. How to detect the distance between people? I don’t know the advantages and disadvantages of those methods.
  • Kinect can detect human appearance, and Kinect can connect with Unity
  • In IOS, Bluetooth, and WiFi can detect the distance
  • Use some sensors that can be worn on the human body to detect the distance

to do:

  • In Unity, set up a virtual environment where the sound is placed, test the Kinect asap(i will get it in 2 days)
  • test the Google Reference, an open-source library based on the Android system, what does it mean to me?
  • test this model

What other devices should be considered in this case to enhance the interaction, like Bose headphones or AirPods(both of them can tap to confirm the commands)?
