This week I mainly focus on researching why humans are happy from different perspectives. Such as psychology, sociology, and cultural factor. How will those elements affect people’s happiness.

Below is the mind map:

The three possible designs that will address a question I am purchasing for my thesis is:

  1. Make an art exhibition about why people are happy. There will be many different interactive devices, which involve different types of products or environments to make people glad or happy. People can be immersed in these experiences, so as to gain their own understanding of happy ways, and then can more calmly face the pressure of daily life.
  2.  Organizing workshops in schools. Help middle school students or college students to better understand their emotions. For example,  usually, some students will quite nervous during the exam week. It can be seen from the fact that everyone often goes to the library to occupy a seat to study. It means some students are under certain pressure or nervousness. Therefore, by holding a workshop at this time, students can be more aware of the power of their emotions and how to create positive emotions to better deal with challenges.
  3. Create a product that relieves people’s anxiety. For example, I saw a creative book design. It was created specifically to let humans vent their emotions. For example, on the first page, there is a saying for readers to tear this page down and crush it. In the next few pages, readers will be told to put the book directly under their feet and print their own shoe prints. I think this is a very interesting way of interaction to help people relieve their usual anxiety and stress, so it can also be one interesting direction.
