Thesis Development & Show A Thing Show Reflection
The way that meeting with the professors was very helpful to me on last Wednesday, April 20. They are Gottfried Haider,Tiri Kananuruk,Rodolfo Cossovich and Dorian Janežič. After a long period of wandering and an overactive, I finally discovered the problem with the current stage of my work. These problems occur in two ways:
First of all, the concept and starting point of this work is strong, the interviewee can clearly sense my concept, and the combination of this concept and form is also appropriate. But Tiri’s question, why my device is related to creatures in the sea, it got me thinking more deeply. Well, for me, in a sense, the future of post-humanity lies in the sea, and my works background will also be based on the recent epidemic in Shanghai, the human predicament caused by this situation will also result in the cyberization and closure of human beings, while Shanghai is a port on the sea side, i think I’ll focus on the relationship between Shanghai’s location and the ocean — food, logistics disruption, hunger, future food variation, food illusion.
Secondly, the teachers also put forward some pertinent suggestions on the devices to be used in the performance. For example, Gottfried Haider and Dorian Janežič pose a straightforward question:
1:What kind of senor will you put in the mask/ ear?
2.What kind of data will you like to try?
These questions makes my divergent thinking, and came up with some solutions, such as, 1, I should use more readily available materials, such as paper and dough, and do it as D.I.Y ways, while the current epidemic makes it difficult to obtain materials. 2, my sensor can do a symbolic state, and just stimulate it, the key is where the data is stored. I think it’s about the design of my mask(ear), so the sensors in the mask can be hand-crafted to create a device that focuses on the physical sound.
Thirdly, teacher prof.Rodolfo Cossovich’s question of language and expression, which interact with the audience, make me think what is the sound produced by the auditory hallucination itself? And the fact that I could have avoided performing in a non-native language. I’m getting more and more focused on the sound and the sound creative.
