I feel that for the midterm presentation, I am well prepared. I articulate my concerns, the questions I want to explore, and what kind of project I’m going to make. For the next 5 weeks, I will continue to work on the following parts:

– More research on the ecological and social value of forests

– Learning about game settings. I will also interview a game designer to try to understand more about the logic of game design and get some relevant experience.

-The design of the device part will also be the focus, including the drawings of the overall structure, the selection of materials, and the design of the mechanical part.

– Preliminarily determine the scheme of the Arduino. Including the selection of the sensor, the circuit diagram, and the corresponding basic coding part.

Below is the project timeline, breaking down the steps in the research process:

This timeline covers the summer term. Ongoing research and deepening of the game design part will take place concurrently, including interviews with various professionals. Installation design and drawing may take up to 2 weeks. I hope that before the end of the spring semester, I will finish the drawing and enter the production part, and can complete the design of a relatively complete coding part.

User testing is more focused on time periods in the game design part. I hope to get opinions and feedback as soon as possible to ensure that I can implement the game part of the plan before the drawing design, because it is closely related to my mechanical part.

But I have to say that the epidemic in Shanghai has caused me a lot of trouble. We couldn’t leave home and all deliveries stopped. If it continues to cease operations, I will have no way to buy my crafting materials. Hope Shanghai can return to normal soon! !
