Show A Thing Show Reflection & development

Reflection:

I presented the thesis ideas to 3 amazing guests: Maria, Jamie and David. I showed them the general idea and prototype setting and get the wonderful feedback and suggestion. I have organized these comments into 3 parts:

About research:

Help me think more deeply about the connection between forests and people. It may not be directly reflected in this study, but it will definitely affect our observation of forests and our thinking about symbiosis. Whether or not we recognize that we are in an extremely complex ecosystem, our anthropological tools hinge on those capacities that make us distinctly human. Avoiding reductionistic solutions, and without losing sight of how our lives and those of others are caught up in the moral webs we humans spin. Guests offer a more capacious way to think about the world we share with other kinds of beings.

About installation:

Guests offer me some suggestion on aesthetics. Including the use of carbon-based finishes, earth-toned paints and more emotional sounds. These metaphorical visual and sound stimuli help the audience to have a better immersive experience.

About game:

The rules of the game are more worth thinking about. The original model was to clean up the scene after each participant finished the game. This is bound to disrupt the rhythm of the game.

Adjustments such as:

– more reasonable process

– Smoother, undisturbed user experience

– Compatible with Arduino

– The effect of the state of the sand on the game

I will make an online simulation process to make it easier for others to participate in user testing.

Development:

In addition to continuing to study in depth these two weeks, I have continued to make drawings.

Includes:

– initial circuit diagrams about part connections of parts:

– connecting member of the pendulum part:

– Parts split diagram:
