I felt that I prepared adequately for the midterm presentation. I thought I would have progressed more with the material by this time, but I’m proud of what I’ve been able to come up with so far. Now, it’s just time for the DOING, and I think that feels intimidating. I’ve downloaded Touch Designer and am watching tutorials, that’s the first step!

For the next 5 weeks, I believe I need to speed learn Touch Designer. I want to have a 50 days mentality with learning Touch Designer, and try to advance a little more every day. 

 

Continued Research:

The newest reference I brought to class is going to be a key reference I go back to throughout the process. The projection and movement are in conversation together and it feels seamless and purposeful.

Rough Timeline:

April Week 1 – secure space for performance, music draft, storyline draft, 3 beginner touch designer tutorials

April Week 2 – Learn and explore Touch Designer, test with projector

April Week 3 – Test projection and dancer together, begin proper rehearsals with dancer

April Week 4 – Bring all elements of performance together, User testing (invite people to rehearsal)

May Week 1 – Draft of final performance 

May Week 2 – Fill in gaps in performance

May Week 3 – Receive feedback and adjust, final rehearsals

June Week 1 – Performance, gather documentation

June Week 2 – create thesis presentation
