update summer 22
Since our initial meeting for the course I’ve begun to solidify the final output for a successful version of this project. There are four pillars of the work that would come together to create the full experience: the physical aesthetic in bedroom, the front-end prototype in Figma, the server and content manager in TouchDesigner, and the score for choreographic work.
Aesthetically, I want the interface to give industrial yet playful. This will be expressed through font, layout, and color choice next Thursday. It will have a nod to One Flat Thing, Reproduced by William Forsythe at some point. Conceptually, if I can make the absence of immediacy of the screen dance apparent through a home network performance, then I would consider this a success. Although I am organizing and inviting a collective creative process, there should be something dystopic about my lack of control.
For my bedroom decor I’m planning on taking down all my posters and limiting sight of those personal belongings. I have 4 Cameras. Two are webcams (laptop and desktop). One is an old PTZ surveillance camera. The last is a 360 zoom. I also have five lights and two classroom clocks. I want to transform the space even more so I will be hunting for other novel objects.
The score of choreography will be determined by scraped action words. These will be the same each day to establish constraints. I need to develop this more than anything.
