Chinese Saying-throw egg against rock — a magnetic experiment about eggs

  • There‘s an alarm clock, symbolizing time, and then there’s attraction (magnets), and then there‘s something fragile in the middle (eggs)， and then there’s a part of a limb (Pikachu’s ears) that’s being pulled, that’s being disturbed by a broken egg in its path.
  • Metaphor of robotic arms and the activity of these arms will be influenced by the relationship of the robotic arms and the real ones.

Experiment：

I use the rope to pull small objects, like characters in my plays, against each other; then I move two magnets in the direction of the egg, and when their attraction is at its maximum, the egg breaks. I would like to use this to study the transformation of their relationship, as well as the relationship of mutual control.

A new media artist, sound artist and software engineer

  • He is currently the deputy dean of the Experimental Art School of Sichuan Conservatory of Music, a researcher at the Music Artificial Intelligence Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education.
  • Bai uses computers as tools to develop software programs, using big data and artificial intelligence algorithms to generate music, sound, and visual content in his works, or generate computer instructions to control lighting fixtures and mechanical devices.

Under the name Cod.Act, the artists André and Michel Décosterd pool their expertise: André is a musician, composer and sound artist, while Michel works as an architect and sculptor. Together they develop art projects, performances and interactive installations. Their works focus on the interplay between sound, image and movement.
