The center includes an outstanding group of faculty members at Stanford’s Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Departments, the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, and Saarland University.

The center is located on the university campus in Saarbruecken, in the tri-border area of Germany, France and Luxembourg. The area offers a stimulating, competitive and collaborative work environment due to numerous high-class research facilities and innovative industry. The Regiopole Saar-Lor-Lux is known for a high standard of living, beautiful surroundings and easy access to major metropolitan areas in the center of Europe. The campus is also home to two Max Planck Institutes (MPI), MPI for Informatics (MPI-INF) and MPI for Software Systems (MPI-SWS), the German Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Cluster of Excellence on Multimodal Computing and Interaction, the Center for Bioinformatics, and the Graduate School of Computer Science. These institutions cooperate closely and comprise a total of more than 300 researchers in computer science. The members of both the Max Planck Institutes teach at Saarland University.

Homepage of MPC-VCC: http://www.mpi-inf.mpg.de/mpc/

APPLICATIONS
The deadline for applications is September 30, 2011.
