Hello,<\/p>\n

We are chairing the Design Challenge at the TEI 2012 conference in
\nOntario, Canada on the 19-22. February 2012. The call is out there,
\nand we’d like to ask you to pass it to people you deem potentially
\ninterested in the challenge.<\/p>\n

In a Nutshell:<\/p>\n

DESIGN ENTERPRENEUR CHALLENGE:
\n<\/a>http:\/\/tei-conf.org\/12\/Main\/DesignChallenge<\/a><\/p>\n

CONCEPT:
\nThe promise of tangible, embedded and embodied interaction is to
\ntransform the way we interact with technology. This year’s design
\nchallenge aims to push these transformations beyond the conference and
\ninto the world. The winning work will be WANTED, not just liked, by
\nthe jury and the audience of the conference. This means that the
\nwinning project team will have the responsibility to make the design
\nhappen, to produce it and to deliver it to the participants who vote
\nfor it \u2013 with their wallet.<\/p>\n

Possible results of this challenge could include:
\n\u2022 a static but intelligent artifact that is the result of computational process
\n\u2022 an electronic product that can be easily be built with accessible
\nparts and existing platforms
\n\u2022 a large-scale singular installation or intervention that the
\naudience is willing to enable with their financial support<\/p>\n

DATES:
\n31. Nov 2011 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Entry deadline (a simple email with details about your
\nteam and basic concept )
\n6. Jan 2012 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 TEI Early Registration
\n19-22. Feb. 2012 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Conference<\/p>\n

PRIZE:
\nThree prizes:
\n\u2022 The most votes from the participants.
\n\u2022 The most money collected.
\n\u2022 The judges’ award.<\/p>\n

Each category will receive $1000 prize on top of the money the votes
\nadd up to. This money is to be used to produce and deliver the works
\nto the voters.<\/p>\n
