Stipend: $40,000 per year, plus<br \/>\nbenefits. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>(1) Interested in research with ephemera and interested in developing new protocols and methods for<br \/>\nstoring and sharing ephemera.<br \/>\n&#8211; Develop a theme for a series of conferences.<br \/>\n(2) Develop a long term strategy for organizational and individual contributions to the archive<br \/>\n&#8211; Negotiate agreements with organizers, scholars, libraries and universities<br \/>\n&#8211; Report to Luce foundation twice a year.<br \/>\n(3) Collaborating with Fondren Center for Digital Scholarship administrative, research and technical staff.<br \/>\n&#8211; Work with the coordinator for digital archives to assess the usability of tools and<br \/>\npractices used by archivists to review and process born-digital materials.<br \/>\n(4) Organize student field researchers.<br \/>\n&#8211; Teach basic research methods.<br \/>\n&#8211; Oversee student research.<br \/>\n(5) Develop technical web interface to facilitate archive submissions.<br \/>\n&#8211; Handle variations in Dublincore metadata.<br \/>\n&#8211; Work with programmers on the interface.<br \/>\n&#8211; Remain aware of developing technology issues<\/p>\n<p>Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in a humanities or social sciences discipline. Experience with humanities<br \/>\nand social science research methods.<\/p>\n<p>Recommended Qualifications: Experience in ephemera collections, particularly advertisements.<br \/>\nExperience in developing or working on an archive.<\/p>\n<p>Preferred skills: Chinese language, in particular.
