We seek a Web Developer who under the supervision of the Director, Interactive Services, will support carnegiehall.org and related websites and serve as front-end developer for website maintenance, enhancements and larger projects.\u00a0 The Web Developer works together with the Interactive Services staff to establish and advance website technical standards, and is responsible for maintaining those standards.\u00a0 He\/she plays a key role in a team which includes the IT&NM and e-Strategy departments on operational maintenance and troubleshooting.\u00a0 He\/she must work well in a high-pressure environment with many deadlines and demands, sometimes competing, from many different departments within the organization.\u00a0 After-hours and weekend work will sometimes be required to meet deadlines and maintain smooth site operations.\u00a0 Web Developer activities will include but are not limited to:\u00a0 Collaborating with Carnegie Hall stakeholder departments to conceive enhancements to existing website functionality as well as entirely new features, always with a focus on improving the customer experience.\u00a0 Designing and developing specifications for enhancements and new website features in conjunction with internal and external software development resources, always using standard practices and keeping SEO in mind.\u00a0 Participating in all phases of website development including coding, unit testing, integration, QA and launch as required.\u00a0 Providing ongoing maintenance and bug fixes for website applications through the use of the content management system and customization as required.\u00a0 Developing documentation for the website itself, along with both technical and operational processes, and providing training to content managers and creators.\u00a0 Remaining current on emerging technologies and security threats.<\/p>\n
Qualifications: BA\/BS degree with 3 years of experience in e-Commerce, website development and support.\u00a0 Proven knowledge of .NET Framework (C#, ASP.NET 2.0\/3.5, ADO.NET). \u00a0Knowledge of front-end web development, scripting, and tagging principals (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML).\u00a0 Familiarity with AJAX, XSL, JavaScript libraries, and SQL.\u00a0 Experience with content management systems, Ektron CMS400 preferred.\u00a0 Experience with ticketing and fundraising applications, Tessitura preferred.\u00a0 Experience with source code management systems, Subversion preferred.\u00a0 Proficiency in such programs as BBEdit and Adobe Creative Suite.\u00a0 Familiarity with the incorporation of music and video media into online environments, including such areas as media capture standards, encoding standards, and streaming technologies. <\/strong>Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required. <\/strong>Strong teamwork skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and with great attention to detail.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n How to Apply<\/p>\n When submitting your resume, please include a cover letter indicating the specific department or position in which you are interested.<\/p>\n Online<\/p>\n
