Institute of Play, a non-profit design studio and learning lab, seeks an intern for its\u00a0after-school program Short Circuit Studio. During Short Circuit, participants\u00a0invent, tinker and hack at the intersection of physical computing, programming\u00a0and design. The program is held at Quest to Learn, a NYC public middle school\u00a0with a focus on systems-thinking and game-based learning, located in the Chelesa\u00a0neighborhood.<\/p>\n
The intern will work with the Institute of Play Afterschool team to prototype\u00a0activities and projects, assist with activity roll-out and support participants in\u00a0knowledge and skills development during workshops. The ideal candidate will be:\u00a0well-versed in physical computing and wearables; eager to share their knowledge\u00a0and expertise with young people; able to follow directions and take the lead where\u00a0necessary. This is an unpaid internship. The session runs January 9-March 16,\u00a02012 and requires availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3p-6p.<\/p>\n
