SMC 2012 will emphasize the involvement of young researchers by specially promoting activities of interest to them. In particular there will be a Summer School prior the the conference to give an opportunity to young researchers to learn about some of the core interdisciplinary topics of SMC and to share their own experiences with other young researchers.<\/div>\n<div>For more information on the SMC field you can check the Portal of the Sound and Music Computing research community, and for more information on the SMC conferences check:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smc-conference.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.smc-conference.org<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>SMC 2012 is organized by the Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology, Aalborg University Copenhagen.<\/div>\n<div>The general theme for the SMC 2012 conference is \u201cIllusions\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>SMC 2012 will feature lectures, posters\/demos, musical\/sonic works, tutorials and other types of events. The SMC Summer School will take place just before the Conference and it will aim at giving an opportunity to young researchers interested in the field to learn about some of the core interdisciplinary topics and to share their own experiences with other young researchers.<\/div>\n<div>Attendance to Technical Sessions (oral and poster presentations), lunches, coffee breaks, and social events is restricted to registered participants.
