\ndiverse backgrounds and interests. The network is different from all other
\nsocial networks in that the contacts and relationships that occur online mi=

\nthose that occur in the real world. Member profiles are real and validated,
\nrelationships and friends trusted, and connections authentic. At its core t=

\nsocial network is a media company targeting international luxury brand
\nadvertisers seeking to attract valuable trendsetters and tastemakers.<\/p>\n

We seek a Javascript Developer who enjoys pushing the limits of their craft=
\n in
\na truly unique and privileged environment. The position requires daily
\ninteraction with the marketing and product development teams in New York.  =
\nThis
\nrole will be responsible for the development of innovative user interfaces,
\nfeature enhancements and other compelling applications for premier luxury
\nbrands and advertisers.  There will be a strong preference for candida=
\ntes
\nwith a background developing modular components for large-scale web
\napplications that extensively leverage AJAX,
\nJavaScript libraries, and web services.  The ideal candidate will be a=
\nble
\nto demonstrate an adherence to best practices in their work regarding brows=
\ner
\ncompatibility, maintainability and code reuse.<\/p>\n

You will work with a highly experienced team of designers and developers
\nhelping to build a cutting-edge technology platform to lead our company thr=
\nough

Responsibilities
\n•    Implement modular widgets, applications and other
\nfront-end components in Javascript as well as other technologies such as XH=
\nTML,
\nCSS, XML, JSON and microformats
\n•    Develop high-volume traffic websites
\n•    Take client requests and analyze needs to create =
\nfast
\nloading, clear and creative solutions for business to consumer websites
\n•    Optimize pages for cross-browser and cross-platfo=
\nrm
\ncompatibility
\n•    Troubleshoot JavaScript bugs and optimize existin=
\ng
\ncodebase
\n•    Follow coding conventions and recommend new stand=
\nards
\n•    Collaborate with UI Designers, Software Developer=
\ns
\nand Product Marketing managers<\/p>\n

Requirements
\n•    JavaScript 1.0 and above
\n•    Proficiency with Javascript libraries, preferably=
\n YUI
\nand JQuery
\n•    Fluent in event-driven programming techniques
\nutilizing AJAX,
\ncallbacks, and closures
\n•    Strong DOM manipulation and form handling skills
\n•    Experience creating or consuming web services
\n•    Exceptional cross-browser debugging expertise
\n•    Ability to write semantic XHTML markup
\n•    Familiar with using CSS for table-less layouts
\n•    Superior attention to detail
\n•    Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
\n•    Time-management and work prioritizing skills<\/p>\n

Strong pluses include:
\n•    Photoshop CS
\n•    Familiarity with PHP or Ruby on Rails
\n•    Knowledge of Flash 8 or above
\n•    Ability to write and update design specification
\ndocuments
\n•    Database experience with MySQL and\/or PostgreSQL
