This will ultimately<br \/>\ngenerate deep technical expertise and innovation for NBCU brand<br \/>\npartners and the company as a whole. Consumer technologies the team<br \/>\nfocuses on include Mobile, Social, Gaming, eBooks, Over-the-Top (OTT),<br \/>\nand Automatic Content Recognition (ACR).<\/p>\n<p>ADDITIONAL DUTIES<\/p>\n<p>Manage all associated documentation and source code generated in<br \/>\nhis\/her research and software prototyping activities.<br \/>\nThe Emerging Media Software Architect assists in evangelizing all<br \/>\nthese initiatives, working closely with Emerging Technology<br \/>\nSpecialists (ETS) as well as with other NBCU Operations and Technical<br \/>\nServices peers, 3rd party technology partners, vendors, and NBCU<br \/>\nbrands when needed.<br \/>\nThe ideal candidate will be a motivated, self-starting,<br \/>\ndetail-oriented professional with a strong desire for experimenting<br \/>\nwith new technologies and innovate in the media space.<br \/>\nThis is a technical role in which an engineering background would<br \/>\nbe greatly helpful.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications\/Requirements<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor&#8217;s degree or equivalent in work experience<br \/>\nMinimum of 3 years experience in systems architecture and software<br \/>\ndevelopment, specifically on Web-based technologies (HTML5,<br \/>\nJavaScript, CSS)<br \/>\nMinimum of 2 years experience in systems architecture and software<br \/>\ndevelopment, specifically for Mobile platforms such as iOS, Android,<br \/>\nand Windows phones<br \/>\nMinimum of 2 years experience working directly with customers to<br \/>\nunderstand their needs, capture requirements, and or older<\/p>\n<p>Desired Characteristics<\/p>\n<p>Strong aptitude for reading\/creating technical documentation,<br \/>\nstandards, and creating formulating\/materializing system integrations<br \/>\nwith 3rd party platforms based on multiple SDKs\/APIs<br \/>\nStrong Agile software development and project management<br \/>\nmethodology experience<br \/>\nStrong LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack experience<br \/>\nFamiliarity with the media business and digital content<br \/>\ndistribution technologies<br \/>\nFamiliarity with Connected TV technologies and platforms such as<br \/>\nSamsung\/LG Smart TVs, Google TV, Yahoo Connected TV, Apple TV, Roku<br \/>\nand others<br \/>\nFamiliarity with Microsoft XBOX gaming platform and MS Silverlight<br \/>\nsoftware development<br \/>\nFamiliarity with Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) technologies<br \/>\nand players in the space<br \/>\nFamiliarity with Social sites integration (Facebook, Twitter) and<br \/>\nsocial commenting tools<br \/>\nFamiliarity with Gamification platforms and services<br \/>\nFamiliarity with eBook publishing tools and technologies<br \/>\nFamiliarity with wireless carriers and mobile
