We are seeking highly motivated graduate students, who are interested in experiencing an exciting summer of\u00a0research. The selected students will have the opportunity to work closely with an outstanding research team on challenging\u00a0problems that range from leading-edge exploratory work to prototyping real-world systems and applications. During the internship,\u00a0the students will also have the opportunity to participate in the dynamic technical environment of the largest industrial research\u00a0organization in the world and network with other top students in different fields from other universities. We offer internship\u00a0positions in various research areas such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Business Analytics and Optimization<\/li>\n<li>Human Language Technologies<\/li>\n<li>Information Management<\/li>\n<li>Next Generation Systems &amp; Smarter Planet Solutions<\/li>\n<li>NextGen Services Delivery<\/li>\n<li>Programming Technologies and Software Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Telecom Research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At a high level, our internships serve a dual purpose:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interns bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the lab\u00a0and help us conduct world-class research, thus creating\u00a0impact.<\/li>\n<li>IBM Research provides an environment where interns\u00a0experience a world-class industrial research setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We measure the success of our internships in one of the\u00a0following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Projects done at internships are targeted towards top\u00a0conferences and journals. Most of our interns have\u00a0been successful in the past in publishing their papers in\u00a0top conferences.<\/li>\n<li>Projects completed during the internships become part\u00a0of larger research projects at IBM.<\/li>\n<li>The projects that the students participate in are also of\u00a0interest to the universities that they come from and help\u00a0increase collaborations with the universities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stipend and Relocation: The interns will be paid a stipend that is competitive with what other leading companies pay in India. \u00a0IBM Research &#8211; India will also cover expenses related to travel to the work location and provide logistical support for\u00a0accommodation.
