\npublication, is seeking a marketing intern to start immediately.<\/p>\n
For 27 years, award-winning Metropolis Magazine has covered
\narchitecture, interiors, landscape, product and graphic design, urban
\nplanning and preservation. Here you will gain the experience of
\nworking right in the publishing and design industries; learn how the
\nmagazine functions; learn marketing strategies and how to get results!

2009 INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate has the following:<\/p>\n
Great research skills<\/p>\n
Curiosity to learn new ways of doing things
\n Lively and pleasant attitude
\n Resourcefulness and strong initiative
\n A strong interest in and\/or knowledge of marketing
\n An interest in and\/or knowledge of design
\n The ability to be a team player
\n Good organizational skills
\n Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, PPT, Excel a must<\/p>\n
Interns work closely with all levels of staff and all departments at
\nMetropolis. There is an opportunity for online marketing copywriting
\n(short articles, releases, announcements for our DesignMart section of
\nthe Web site) and to attend and help coordinate all
\nMetropolis-sponsored events, lectures and tradeshows in the New York
\nCity area.<\/p>\n
The intern duties include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
Conducting marketing and event research
\nEvent coordination and planning
\nDatabase upkeep (Microsoft Excel)
\nPerforming some general office administrative duties
\nAssembling media kits
\nUpdating and organizing office files and library
\nCoordinating materials for tradeshows, contests and events
\nArchiving materials<\/p>\n
