{"id":11134,"date":"2012-02-07T12:00:29","date_gmt":"2012-02-07T16:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/?p=11134"},"modified":"2012-02-07T12:01:53","modified_gmt":"2012-02-07T16:01:53","slug":"intern-e-waste-recycling-internship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/2012\/02\/07\/intern-e-waste-recycling-internship\/","title":{"rendered":"[INTERN] E-Waste recycling internship"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The Lower East Side Ecology Center is expanding its electronic waste (e-waste) program and is offering internship positions at its new\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lesecologycenter.org\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=237&amp;Itemid=120&amp;28e5bbf660cb545fc854f5c048c7be7c=db5ce008698976ceab104aae25fe6877\" target=\"_blank\">e-waste warehouse<\/a>\u00a0in Gowanus Brooklyn.<\/div>\n<div>\nInterns will be an integral part of making this program successful and will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Receiving e-waste at the warehouse<\/li>\n<li>Inventorying incoming donations<\/li>\n<li>Dismantling materials<\/li>\n<li>Testing and refurbishing materials<\/li>\n<li>Data entry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Internships will begin in early February and will run through the spring semester. Interns may earn credit, as applicable. Interns are expected to work 15 hours per week. Ideal candidates will be able to stay organized and listen to instructions, interested in waste issues (especially electronic waste issues), and excited about local reuse. Being technologically savvy is a plus.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond that,\u00a0the experience would provide access to an enormous amount of electronics that would make for an amazing source of materials for ITP-minded projects.
