Strategic Opportunity Stipends (SOS) Deadline:<\/strong>

Strategic Opportunity Stipends (SOS)\u00a0<\/strong>a program of the New York Foundation for the Arts working in collaboration with arts councils and cultural organizations across New York State, is designed to help individual artists of all disciplines take advantage of specific opportunities that will significantly benefit their career development. Strategic Opportunity Stipends are administered by NYFA with leadership support from the\u00a0New York State Council on the Arts<\/a>, a state agency.<\/p>\n

Applications should clearly describe the concrete and significant impact the artist’s career will gain from the proposed opportunity in order to be competitive in the panel process.<\/p>\n

Artists working in all disciplines (including literature, media arts, visual arts, dance, music and theater) may request support ranging from $200 to $1,500.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Strategic Opportunity Stipends are for artists living in New York Stateoutside<\/strong>\u00a0of the five boroughs of New York City.

\n<\/strong>DEADLINE APRIL\u00a0<\/strong>5, 2012.<\/strong>\u00a0This deadline is for opportunities occurring between June 1, 2012 and October 31, 2012.<\/p>\n

SOS applications must be emailed as a ONE PDF<\/strong>\u00a0to the appropriateregional sponsoring organization<\/a>.\u00a0Please NOTE: Incomplete applications will not be considered.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Artists residing in the five boroughs of New York City are\u00a0not<\/strong>\u00a0eligilble to apply for this grant opportunity.<\/p>\n
