It is a full-time,<br \/>\nnine-month, non-tenure track appointment beginning August 2012 and<br \/>\nending May 2013.<\/p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach courses in music cognition, digital signal<br \/>\nprocessing, music information retrieval and\/or other music technology<br \/>\ncourses as required. Advise graduate students in collaborative and<br \/>\nindividual research projects, and theses. Pursue an active research<br \/>\nagenda with a primary focus on music information retrieval, music<br \/>\ncognition, and\/or digital signal processing. A secondary focus in<br \/>\nanother area of music technology is desirable. Assist with<br \/>\nadministrative responsibilities with the graduate programs in music<br \/>\ntechnology, the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology, and the<br \/>\nSchool of Music<\/p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or DMA in computer music, music technology,<br \/>\ncomputer science, or electrical engineering is strongly preferred. ABD<br \/>\nwill receive consideration.<\/p>\n<p>RANK &amp; SALARY: Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with<br \/>\nexperience and qualifications.<\/p>\n<p>SCHOOL OF MUSIC: The School of Music combines tradition and technology<br \/>\nto create unique and exciting opportunities for students in all<br \/>\nacademic programs. Undergraduate students can participate in one of<br \/>\nthree Music Minors and graduate students can apply for the Master of<br \/>\nScience and PhD in Music Technology.<\/p>\n<p>GTCMT: The Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology (GTCMT) is an<br \/>\ninternational center for creative and technological research in music,<br \/>\nfocusing on the development and deployment of innovative musical<br \/>\ntechnologies that transform the ways in which we create and experience<br \/>\nmusic. Our mission is to provide a collaborative framework for<br \/>\ncommitted students, faculty, and researchers to apply their musical,<br \/>\ntechnological, and scientific creativity to the development of<br \/>\ninnovative artistic and technological artifacts. Our work aims at<br \/>\ncombining musical, technological, and cognitive research in an effort<br \/>\nto create rich and expressive experiences for performers and audiences<br \/>\nalike. Areas of interest include composition, performance, mobile<br \/>\nmusic, machine listening, music information retrieval, digital signal<br \/>\nprocessing, robotic musicianship, interactive music manufacturing,<br \/>\nnetworked music, music perception, music theory, multimedia<br \/>\ndevelopment, and education.
