Position Description
\nBobVila.com is looking for a summer intern to assist it with marketing and business development
\nprojects. With a digital footprint of 2 Million online visitors and social media followers, the online
\nhome of the most trusted name in home improvement is poised for rapid growth. The internship is a
\nterrific opportunity to exercise social media expertise and sales savvy to have significant impact on this
\nprominent brand. The position is a full-time role during May – August 2012 in New York City and may
\ncontinue into the Fall. This internship is a paid position reporting to the General Manager, BobVila.com.<\/p>\n
Projects include:
\n\u2022 Social media and link building – Post content on social media outlets and monitor online
\nconversations about Bob Vila to increase traffic to the site; post links to BobVila.com on other
\nrelevant websites to enhance SEO
\n\u2022 Business development \u2013 identify and initiate deals with potential content and distribution partners
\n\u2022 Custom marketing solutions proposals \u2013 write sales presentations to advertisers describing
\nBobVila.com custom marketing programs.
\n\u2022 Digital Toolkit \u2013 build pipeline of sales prospects for BobVila.com\u2019s Digital Toolkit offering through
\noutreach to relevant product companies in home improvement
\n\u2022 Competitive research \u2013 follow product companies (e.g., home improvement retailers, kitchen\/bath
\nmanufacturers) and synthesize their key strategies to informs sales presentations<\/p>\n
