Seeking Robotic Designer\/Builder\/Programmer<\/p>\n
to collaborate in a new multimedia performance in NYC<\/p>\n
MEI-BE Whatever is a multimedia dance company located in NYC. We create
\nmixed-discipline works that fuse contemporary dance with a variety of media,
\nincluding live\/recorded video and soundscapes.<\/p>\n
Candidate:
\n\u25cf Experienced robotic designer\/builder\/programmer.
\n\u25cf Familiar with digital technology and software: live video, sound, projection and
\nsensor technology
\n\u25cf Adroit sense of music and movement cues- and the space between
\n\u25cf Positive attitude, open-minded and detail oriented.
\n\u25cf Willing to invest in long-term collaboration.<\/p>\n
Job requirement:
\n\u25cf Design and construct a mobile robotic pet that moves and interacts with
\nperformers and audience.
\n\u25cf Communicate with video, sound and movement collaborators
\n\u25cf Work with choreographer to create choreography, which may require live
\nperformance or teaching it to a technician.<\/p>\n
Timing:
\n\u25cf Robotic construction: August 2012
\n\u25cf Rehearsals: mid September- November, 2012 (first workshop period)
\n\u25cf Participate in work-in-progress showcase in New York
\n\u25cf Rehearsals: January-February, 2012 (second workshop period)
\n\u25cf Performances: Work in progress at Culturemart Festival, HERE, NYC<\/p>\n
Participants will be compensated and receive performance credit.<\/p>\n
