Front End Developer \/ Creative Coder<\/p>\n
ESI Design is a NYC based exhibit design firm. We create both small and large-
\nscale visitor experiences, combining different media including print, interactive
\nand physical. Digital platforms include web, mobile devices and large-scale
\ninteractive displays. Our projects range from cultural institutions to corporate
\nenvironments, all meant to engage, educate and inspire the audience.<\/p>\n
Interaction Design is the practice of facilitating social interaction between
\npeople, engaging people in acts of communication. At ESI, Interaction Design is
\ntherefore an interdisciplinary practice, which involves broad knowledge of new
\ncommunications technologies, emerging social behaviors and environmental
\ncontexts for interaction. We are looking for somebody who is primarily a coder
\nbut is interested in participating in the interaction design process. An interest in
\ndata visualization and for somebody who has creative ideas data visualization<\/p>\n
We are looking for a Front End Developer \/ Creative Coder to work as part of a
\ncross-disciplinary team developing websites and creative code \u201csketches\u201d. This
\nwill be a shorter-term contract position to start, but with longer-term possibilities.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Expertise with HTML5\/CSS and web standards and best practices<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge of JavaScript, PHP and the DOM<\/p>\n
Understanding of front-end and back-end integration<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge of Mac applications<\/p>\n
Excellent communications skills and demonstrated ability to work well
\nwith team members<\/p>\n
Experience with interdisciplinary design (physical\/digital) a plus!<\/p>\n
Other programming experience or interest in languages for mobile or
\nlarge scale display, a plus<\/p>\n
3-5 years experience in the field<\/p>\n
