Description<\/td>\nBrooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), an internationally recognized presenter of contemporary performing arts and cinema, seeks Full-Time\u00a0Senior Interactive Designer\u00a0<\/strong>to ensure that the BAM digital experience (BAM.org<\/a>, mobile site, email, online advertising, digital signage, and elsewhere), maintains the highest standard of visual design and usability.<\/p>\n

-Working directly as part of the design and digital teams in collaboration with producers, video people, and technologists to conceptualize, wireframe, determine interactivity, design, and provide art direction for:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0BAM.org<\/a>\u00a0and mobile\u00a0BAM.org<\/a>\u00a0(dynamic and static content)
\n– Digital signage
\n– Online advertising (animation and flat versions)
\n– New initiatives (longer-term special projects such as new web section, special websites, mobile design)<\/p>\n

-Working in collaboration with the Director of Design to effectively manage the Junior Interactive Designer role, including:
\n– providing art direction and design feedback on projects
\n– daily check-ins on progress
\n– instruction on general best practices for digital design<\/p>\n

-Maintain knowledge of the emerging web technologies and best practices in user-centric design
\n– Collaborate with the IT and Digital Media teams for web production efficiencies
\n– Keep up to speed with current design technology trends<\/p>\n

Position Requirements<\/td>\n\n
    \n
  • At least 3+ years experience in an Interactive Design role<\/li>\n
  • Bachelor degree required<\/li>\n
  • Proficiency designing with HTML5\/CSS, Jquery, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Flash<\/li>\n
  • Solid understanding and demonstration of user centered design principles<\/li>\n
  • Create wireframes based on a project\u2019s mandate, feature set, and business requirements<\/li>\n
  • A good understanding of what types of experiences are made possible by current digital technologies<\/li>\n
  • Able to develop simple, elegant design approaches to complex problems<\/li>\n
  • An interest in current trends in web design and user interaction<\/li>\n
  • An understanding of typography and layout within the digital realm<\/li>\n
  • Ability to collaborate actively as part of a multi-disciplinary team<\/li>\n
  • In possession of excellent interpersonal communication skills, analytical and leadership potential<\/li>\n
  • Must be organized, able to act independently, and able to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n
