Us: Located steps from the Pike Place Market, we are a small, but well-funded, early stage start-up, that is focusing on e-tailing luxury goods. The founding team has a proven track record in ecommerce success at scale. We are looking for a talented Sr. UI Developer who is excited about creating and continuously enhancing a world-class customer experience for a high-end brand.<\/div>\n

You: The ideal \u2018fit\u2019 is passionate about both the art and the science in creating rich and innovative online experiences. You should be comfortable developing prototypes and ideas across a broad spectrum from hand sketches and white boarding to final \u2018fit and finish\u2019 designs. You will work collaboratively with UX design, software engineers, product management, QA, and the executive team on a day-to-day basis (hey, it\u2019s a small team). You should have a passion for providing a compelling customer experience and thrive on continual change and iteration as we push the limits of innovation.<\/div>\n

WHAT YOU\u2019LL DO<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u2022 Partner with team members to help build the front end user experience for our site; ensuring the experience is best-in-class, high performance and responsive, delivering on its value proposition, and unique from competitors.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Develop prototypes for usability testing and consumer research pilots.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Work collaboratively with the team to implement the visual design and direction in bringing our application to life.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Work with other parts of the development team to interface with the backend components in our application and have the opportunity to learn and contribute to other areas in our application stack.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Contribute to idea development, software estimation, and task breakdown.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Advise on how the company can best leverage new technologies and practices to achieve its goals.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Be a key contributor of our growing team and have the opportunity to mentor others and set the bar for how things get done.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Research, learn and apply the latest generation web development technologies. Implement with Javascript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Sass and interact with Ruby on Rails.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Create and configure your own gear.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
WHAT YOU BRING<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u2022 A B.A.\/B.S. degree in computer science or equivalent<\/div>\n
\u2022 5+ years of UI development experience utilizing best practices with HTML, CSS and JavaScript design. Experience in consumer e-commerce strongly preferred.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Excellent organizational, communication skills \u2013 you like to get things done and people like working with you.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Ability to create complex web applications using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS2\/CSS3<\/div>\n
\u2022 Stay current on web standards, best practices, pitfalls of developing for cross-browser compatibility and scalable, responsive web-design<\/div>\n
\u2022 Experience in utilizing tools such as Firebug, YSlow, Page Speed<\/div>\n
\u2022 Experience with Ruby on Rails is ideal but others like\u00a0ASP.NET<\/a>\u00a0MVC, DJango and cakePHP are ok too.<\/div>\n
