Connecting Light is a commission art project for the London Olympics 2012. It involves a landscape installation, using hundreds of tethered weather balloons approximately 6ft in diameter and lit by internal LED lights, spans over 73 miles along the Hadrian\u2019s Wall World Heritage Site. \u00a0The installation will be visible in the evening of August 31 and Sep 1, and accessible to visitors at several locations.<\/p>\n
To participate in the project, you can simply submit a message on our website. \u00a0The installation will become a line of pulsating colours as all the incoming messages are sent along the Wall. Along the site, Each tethered balloon is a networked object and has intelligence embedded to communicate with outside world and between each other.<\/p>\n
About you:<\/span><\/p>\n The position requires a very senior level creative talent, with a proven ability in the areas of narrative\/conceptual, and graphic\/aesthetic. Working with one other backend developer, one iphone developer in the group of 3 – 5 people. \nKey Responsibilities\/
\nCreates the visual design for this project.
\nResponsible for accomplishing and maintaining the quality of design throughout all phases of the project
\nWorks with the artists to ensure that various aspects of design work meet both YesYesNo and Olympic standard.
\nExecutes top quality design work.<\/p>\n
\nSome knowledge of C++, Java, CSS, \u00a0as well as visual\/interactive\/motion design trends
\nSolid foundation in typography, layout, and general design
\nVery high attention to detail
\nAbility to function independently and in a team environment<\/p>\n
\nSignificant experience in Graphic Design
\nAn exceptional on-line portfolio showcasing innovative concepts and creative design solutions.<\/p>\n
