We&#8217;re looking to fundamentally change the way direct-sales (think: Avon, Mary Kay) is done by building killer mobile\/social\/web apps for young women to sell costume jewelry to their networks.\u00a0 The philosophy is to have fewer sales-folk than most of the companies like this (unlike our nearest competition, Stella &amp; Dot) and to give them tools that truly help them learn to run businesses.\u00a0 We could easily expand into other verticals (beauty, accessories) and right now the margins are crazy-high.\u00a0 Technologically, we&#8217;re using Spree 1 as a platform base, but due to the very specific nature of direct sales (lots of commissions and inputs) there&#8217;s a ton of custom refactoring\/custom gem development going on.\u00a0 The reason I joined the product team is that the problems we&#8217;re looking to solve are infinitely more complex than the average e-commerce startup.\u00a0 Our Product\/Tech Founder is a good friend and the founder\/former GM of Gilt Taste (as well as the first PM at Gilt, and the one that led development of its fairly groundbreaking mobile apps).<\/p>\n<p>Contact:<\/p>\n<p>George Abbott &lt;<a href=\"mailto:geohastings@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\">geohastings@gmail.com<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Web Designer &#8211;
