ABOUT US:<\/p>\n

CrowdJewel (www.crowdjewel.com) is an NYC-based e-commerce startup that brings to market jewelry designs based on the crowd vote. Jewelry designers submit designs, our community gives feedback, and CrowdJewel manufactures and sells the winners. Some people call us the Threadless for jewelry, and we (with Threadless folks as our advisors) are certainly not opposed to that description! Some more fun facts about us:
\n\u2022 CrowdJewel was founded by 3 women all under age 30 out of Stanford University.
\n\u2022 CrowdJewel just received seed funding from the Groupon fund, the founder and CEO of TaskRabbit, and some strategic value-add investors.
\n\u2022 Technology runs in our veins at CrowdJewel, with our co-founder and CTO holding a BS and MS in Computer Science from Stanford.
\n\u2022 Crowdjewel has designers in 32 countries, and the company hasn’t even started marketing yet!
\n\u2022 Crowdjewel has signed partnership agreements with 5 major jewelry designers selling into Bergdorf, Neiman, and Bloomingdales.<\/p>\n

THE POSITION:<\/p>\n

We’re looking for a passionate, creative front-end developer. We’re giving our site an entire face-lift, and you’ll get to be a vital part of this overhaul. Want to do some graphic design, too? There will also be plenty of opportunities to show off your Photoshop skills!
\n\u2022 BS degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent web design background
\n\u2022 Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript\/jQuery, and front-end template languages (e.g. Django templates)
\n\u2022 Experience with cross-browser compatibility issues, HCI\/UI\/UX best practices<\/p>\n

We’re looking for a back-end developer to help add to and scale our rapidly-growing site. We’re building an online store, setting up automation, and adding new features for our user community, but the list doesn’t stop there. You’ll have the flexibility of working on all kinds of projects. And, you’ll have the satisfaction of seeing your work go live before thousands of users on a daily basis.
\n\u2022 BS degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent programming background
\n\u2022 Solid experience with Python\/Django (preferred), Ruby on Rails, or similar web application frameworks
\n\u2022 Big plus: Experience with e-commerce web development<\/p>\n
