The Advertising Products Group (APG) at Yahoo! is developing the next generation advertising system that can handle billions of advertising impressions daily in a wide-array of advertising formats. As a member of the Advertising Applications team, you will participate in the development of one of the world\u2019s largest and most complex online advertising systems. We\u2019re always looking for big thinkers. We need people who have the ability to take develop new ideas and successfully launch them into production. Ideal candidates should have strong enterprise java experience with good knowledge of Oracle.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities include<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Build highly scalable, high performance and stable advertising experience. \u00b7 Understand the business requirements, translate them into design and implementation approaches, and rapidly drive convergence towards the best solution. \u00b7 Engineer the full product lifecycle, from concepts, design, through maintenance, managing prioritization and trade-offs across functional domains \u00b7 Hands-on coding: Develop and maintain high quality code base, consistently delivering challenging, stable, and maintainable projects on schedule. \u00b7 Adopt and improve best practices to foster rapid ways of software development.<\/p>\n

Minimum Job Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Expert in Java \u00b7 Proven track record of software design, object-oriented programming, design patterns, software architecture, debugging skills. \u00b7 Expert level experience in OO, ORM, Java and J2EE and Oracle. \u00b7 Strong background in Hibernate and Spring frameworks and experience in MVC, Struts, JSP and Servlets preferred. \u00b7 Proven track record of designing and developing high performance and massively scalable Internet applications. \u00b7 Good knowledge of upcoming technological stack in java. \u00b7 Experience with Java code profiling tools. \u00b7 Experience with complex parallel and distributed systems. \u00b7 Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and analytical and problem solving skills. \u00b7 Excellent team player with strong collaboration skills to work with various cross functional teams on multi-team projects. \u00b7 Should have a strong sense of commitment and responsibility. \u00b7 Independent thinker. \u00b7 Web software engineering experience. \u00b7 BS\/MS in Computer Science or applicable experience.<\/p>\n

Preferred Job Qualifications<\/strong><\/div>\n

\n<\/strong>\u00b7 MS Computer Science (or equivalent), 5+ years industry experience \u00b7 Background in high performance computing and code optimization.<\/div>\n

As a principal engineer of the Display Advertising Platform applications engineering team, you will participate in the development of Apt from Yahoo! In order to be considered for this position, you must have the following required skills: * Proven track record of full software development life-cycle, from requirements analysis and design all the way to testing and deployment. * Proven track record of designing and developing high performance and massively scalable web-based applications. * Expertise in OOD and Java. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Excellent team player with strong collaboration skills to work with various cross-functional teams on multi-team projects. * Strong sense of commitment and responsibility. * 10+ years of relevant work experience. * MS in Computer Science, Ph.D desirable.<\/div>\n
\nTo have even better chances of landing this dream job, you will also need at least some of the following highly desired skills: * Hands-on experience with Hibernate and Spring frameworks. * Experience with J2EE, JMS, EJB (preferably using JBoss application server). * Experience designing SOAP or REST Web Services in SOA. * Experience with Java code profiling tools and performance improving methodologies. * Fluency in SQL and PL\/SQL. * Experience with Oracle DBMS schema design and performance tuning. * Experience with Cloud computing platforms such as Hadoop. * Fluency in UML.<\/div>\n
