{"id":12285,"date":"2012-09-14T14:53:11","date_gmt":"2012-09-14T18:53:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/?p=12285"},"modified":"2012-09-14T14:53:11","modified_gmt":"2012-09-14T18:53:11","slug":"job-robotics-systems-engineer-honeybee-robotics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/2012\/09\/14\/job-robotics-systems-engineer-honeybee-robotics\/","title":{"rendered":"[JOB] Robotics Systems Engineer, Honeybee Robotics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.honeybeerobotics.com\/about\/careers\">http:\/\/www.honeybeerobotics.com\/about\/careers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Robotics Systems Engineer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Honeybee Robotics is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with expertise in guiding projects and multi-disciplinary teams from early phase through product delivery for aerospace, defense and\/or industrial clients.<\/p>\n<p>As the Systems Engineer, you will typically lead up to five engineers in the development of a product or one or more of its components and will coordinate the engineering talent to complete projects.\u00a0 You will offer technical solutions to resolve complex system requirements and design issues; develop execution plans and guide a multi-disciplinary project team; work with a Project Manager to ensure timely completion within budget; and assist in business development activities.<\/p>\n<p>Your areas of expertise include the ability to analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architecture to develop system requirements specifications; develop detailed system architecture and system design documentation; guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans; and develop system configuration documentation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for developing, defining, and designing system requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Analyzes systems requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.<\/li>\n<li>Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs complex system specifications, input\/output processes and working parameters for hardware\/software compatibility.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates design of subsystem and integration of total system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem solving techniques<\/li>\n<li>Time management and prioritization<\/li>\n<li>Team management and coordination<\/li>\n<li>Proficient with a variety of computer aided design &amp; analysis tools (e.g. solid modeling, FEA, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent reporting and presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience with DFM methods and techniques<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>7+ years of experience in robotic and\/or electromechanical systems development<\/li>\n<li>4+ years working as a systems engineer including all phases of development including requirements analysis, design, process development, and validation testing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with and knowledge of defense robotics market<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Matlab<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel: Occasional<\/li>\n<li>Security Clearance: No<\/li>\n<li>US Citizenship:\u00a0 Required per government contracts<\/li>\n<li>Minimum Required Education: BSME or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested in this position, please send a cover letter and resume to<a href=\"mailto:jobs@honeybeerobotics.com\">jobs@honeybeerobotics.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>http:\/\/www.honeybeerobotics.com\/about\/careers &nbsp;
