Working at NYC Media Lab offers an incredible\u00a0opportunity to be a part of the community of innovation that is transforming the city.\u00a0 In a short time, NYC Media Lab has become a powerful force uniting Companies and Universities to spur digital media innovation in New York City.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As we continue to expand our programs, we are seeking a seasoned and motivated Membership Director to lead our efforts to grow our corporate member base and help connect companies with relevant researchers.\u00a0 This position reports to the Executive Director.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Responsibilties:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The membership director will solicit corporate and academic membership and renewals, delivering on goals for funding and the number of corporate members<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Represent the NYC Media Lab to the corporate, venture and academic communities<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Create and execute outreach plan, tracking calls, conversations and progress with all prospects and members up for renewal<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain and update a database of members, prospects and participants<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Expand awareness of NYCML and participation\u00a0within<\/span>\u00a0member companies<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist in planning events and managing participant recruitment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist with event logistics, website content development, and social media strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Connect academic and corporate partners interested in similar topics<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Supporting NYCML goals for the number of research collaborations undertaken<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Conduct crowd-sourcing exercises\u00a0and special information requests from members<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Desired Professional Characteristics:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Highly experienced (5+ years) membership sales or partnership builder<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An exceptionally high degree of professionalism.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Comfortable wearing multiple hats.<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hands-on, detailed oriented, self-starter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A natural networker and connector.<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Strong interest and experience in digital media, marketing and technology<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A passion for innovation, academic research, corporate media and venture communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Superior academic record<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Past experience with higher education or non-profit a plus<\/span><\/p>\n

College degree required, and relevant masters degree preferred (MBA, Education, etc.)<\/span><\/p>\n
