www.fusestudio.net\/about<\/a>). The Digital Media Intern will work alongside the FUSE Team to<\/p>\ntest and edit FUSE Challenges, which are the core educational activities of the FUSE program. Each Challenge is<\/p>\n
comprised of a series of increasingly complex levels, each of which is carefully scaffolded to teach a set of skills or<\/p>\n
concepts. Specifically, the Digital Media Intern will be responsible for reviewing challenge content and incorporating<\/p>\n
feedback from teens to produce polished, engaging challenges that appeal to a broad range of teen interests. This<\/p>\n
position will require some writing but will primarily consist of creating and editing short video tutorials.<\/p>\n
This is a temporary, part-time position requiring 20-30 hours per week with the potential to become a full-time position<\/p>\n
pending funding availability and performance.<\/p>\n
Specific Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Works collaboratively with the FUSE team<\/p>\n
\u2022 Creates video and photo tutorials to teach skills necessary for successful challenge completion<\/p>\n
\u2022 Publishes revised challenges to FUSE website<\/p>\n
\u2022 Performs related duties as required or assigned<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\u2022 A bachelor’s degree in a STEAM content area and\/or education or the equivalent combination of education and<\/p>\n
experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience using common media creation and publishing tools (e.g., iMovie, Google SketchUp, Illustrator,<\/p>\n
and\/or open-source equivalents) to create and publish web content (videos, blogs, basic graphic designs, 3D<\/p>\n
models) and ability to teach those tools to teens<\/p>\n
\u2022 Excellent team, verbal and written communication skills<\/p>\n
Preferred Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience creating media for teen audiences<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience in working with teens in out-of-school settings, particularly in STEAM fields (e.g., museum or<\/p>\n
library programming, after school programs such as science clubs, computer clubs, etc)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Familiarity with the maker community philosophy and approach (e.g., makerspace, hackerspace, FabLab,<\/p>\n
MakerBots, DIY, etc.)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Creative thinker in utilizing innovative strategies to achieve project and learning goals<\/p>\n
Compensation:<\/p>\n
