DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS

Wasted Spaces is inviting artists to propose works for their File Gallery.<\/p>\n
A vintage filing cabinet is transformed into a multi-roomed gallery with
\neach drawer becoming unique space for small, but perfectly formed artworks.<\/p>\n
The ongoing project is housed within The Yard, Brooklyn and provides an
\nopportunity for artist to create site specific work in a new way and for a
\nnew audience. Each participating artists makes work for the 5 drawers of
\nthe vintage filing cabinet to form a miniature solo show. The work rewards
\ncuriosity by revealing an intimate artwork in every drawer opened.<\/p>\n
Participating artists will receive a opening reception at The Yard, Brooklyn
\nand will be showcased through the extensive networks of The Yard and Wasted
\nSpaces.<\/p>\n
ABOUT WASTED SPACES<\/p>\n
Wasted Spaces is an arts organization which specializes in creative
\ncuration. Our mission is to bring quality art to new places and people.<\/p>\n
The collective was set up to provide a platform for up and coming artists,
\nand to engage with communities through site-specific installations. By
\ncreating art that is both accessible and of high quality these projects
\nprovide a gateway for people who have traditionally felt suspicious or
\nexcluded from modern art.<\/p>\n
We believe art should be an inspirational moment of everyday life.<\/p>\n

The Yard currently has 260 members and 80+ companies working in tech,
\ndigital and creative fields.<\/p>\n
