Flocabulary is a dynamic start-up with opportunities for growth.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>JOB DESCRIPTION<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We\u2019re looking for someone with inquisitiveness and a knack for problem-solving to help us diagnose, solidify, and build on our cloud\/API-centric technology stack (Amazon\/Recurly\/Salesforce\/<wbr>more). While improving existing systems will be the focus at first, opportunities to shape and implement new features will grow as you continue at Flocabulary.<\/wbr><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As the second developer on a small team with a large userbase of over 150k registered users in our first year, this role is a chance to have instant impact on an exciting product by:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-Enhancing important areas of our application in response to user feedback as well as internal company goals<\/div>\n<div>-Ensuring the stability of our processes by identifying and resolving problems<\/div>\n<div>-Assisting users with technical questions and issues<\/div>\n<div>-Designing and building dynamic new features that will help students learn more quickly and effectively<\/div>\n<div>-Helping us achieve scale and reliability via automated testing and cloud infrastructure<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>REQUIREMENTS<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-A roll-up-your-sleeves mentality in terms of tracking down and resolving issues<\/div>\n<div>-Experience with one or more of the common web frameworks (Ideally Django; Rails ok.)<\/div>\n<div>-Familiarity with one or more modern version control systems<\/div>\n<div>-Ideally front-end (JS\/JQuery) development experience<\/div>\n<div>-CS degree or related field strongly preferred<\/div>\n<div>-Strong communication skills with non-technical contacts<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>COMPENSATION &amp; DETAILS<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This is a full-time position located in DUMBO, Brooklyn.
