Dear Friends of Startl,<\/p>\n

After a year hiatus, Startl is again partnering with\u00a0DreamIt Ventures<\/a>\u00a0on our\u00a0Startl\u00a0<\/a>Accelerator<\/a>program to offer a very select group of enterprises the opportunity to engage in an intensive, company-building immersion this May through August in New York City. \u00a0Our first two Accelerator programs launched Mindsnacks, Showme, Learnbop and Hoot.me, among others, and we are very proud of their success.<\/p>\n

We need your help!<\/b>
\nWe are currently seeking referrals of young, leading-edge enterprises or products that may be in your network or have come across your transom in the past months. \u00a0These start-ups might focus on games, social media, network platforms, mobile experiences or peer-to-peer communities for in-school or out-of-school learning. \u00a0If the team is bright, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and looking to make a difference in education, they can find more information at\u00a0Startl Accelerator<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This 12-week crash course is the best of experiential learning. \u00a0By collaborating 24\/7 with a cohort of other entrepreneurs, plus having free access to industry experts, mentors, lawyers, accountants, and investors, participants gain start-up experience that is hard to acquire in another setting.<\/p>\n

If selected into the Accelerator program, participants will be responsible for building a market-ready product and having their companies ready for funding and\/or launch by the end of the three months. \u00a0All founding team members will be required to live in the New York City metropolitan area for the program’s three-month tenure. \u00a0The invitation will include a stipend of $5,000, plus $5,000 per founding team member (up to four, for a maximum of $25,000) and in return, Dreamit and Startl will take a 6% equity stake in the participating company.<\/p>\n

Important Deadlines<\/b>
\nApplications are now open! \u00a0All applications are reviewed on a rolling basis so\u00a0there is an advantage to applying early<\/i>. \u00a0Applications are screened by the\u00a0Startl Team<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Selection Committee<\/a>.<\/p>\n

February 22, 2013 – Early decision deadline
\nMarch 15, 2013 – Final deadline for applicants
\nMarch 31, 2013 – Companies notified of selection<\/b><\/p>\n

Accelerator Schedule Summer 2013 New York City<\/b>
\nMay 10-12, 2013 – Kick off weekend
\nMay 13, 2013 – Accelerator program begins
\nAugust 7, 2013 – Demo Day
\nAugust 16, 2013 – Program ends<\/p>\n
