Concept Abstract:<\/b><\/p>\n

My family is in the process of building a house. It\u2019s all very cool, until you find yourself flipping\u00a0through thousands <\/i>of pictures of pendant lamps trying to find one that is both cool and\u00a0affordable. The cool\/affordable nexus is incredibly small, and when applied to kids rooms in\u00a0particular it is almost nonexistent.<\/p>\n

I’d like to make a lighting system that is so funky cool that you\u2019ll want to hang it in your\u00a0<\/b>own room.<\/b><\/p>\n

What makes it different is the quick swap in\/swap out modular pendant fixtures. Think wall\u00a0<\/b>decals the\u00a0<\/b>apex of semipermanent\u00a0<\/b>design for\u00a0<\/b>hanging bulbs. <\/b>First step will be to\u00a0design a contraption that would attach to existing pendant cords and from which would hang the\u00a0various different pendant fixtures; perhaps as simple as a souped-up\u00a0cord lock. The cord-gizmo\u00a0would move up and down the pendant cord to accommodate various attachment shapes animals,\u00a0planets, etc.<\/p>\n

The end result is to have a lighting system that can be easily swapped out to adjust to\u00a0<\/b>changing tastes, to transform the mood of a room, or to delight and entertain.<\/b><\/p>\n

The materials involved should be heat resistant, slightly flexible, light, and colourful.<\/p>\n

What I need:<\/b><\/p>\n

I’m looking for someone with a strong design aesthetic and desire to make relatively simple\u00a0things (souped-up\u00a0cord locks!) into beautifully designed objects. The candidate will also take my\u00a0shape ideas and put them in 3d. As my artistic skills begin and end with stick people, I would\u00a0rely on my exceptional charades skills to explain specifics design concepts.<\/p>\n
