Modern Assembly is looking for a talented Front End Developer who is passionate about\u00a0technology, and self-motivated to solve problems and come up with solutions. You must\u00a0be detail oriented, organized, take pride in your work, and have a strong desire to\u00a0explore and push the boundaries of what\u2019s possible on the web today. You must have\u00a0good communication skills and be a true team player, and be comfortable working with\u00a0a multi-disciplinary team of developers, designers and producers.\u00a0You are willing to push the envelope and innovate. You like to play with others, and you\u00a0understand the importance of evaluating timing and scheduling your deliverables.<\/p>\n
HTML<\/p>\n
We expect you to know HTML, use tags efficiently, and have a good grasp of the\u00a0semantics behind each tag. You should be familiar with Canvas, and know how and\u00a0when to use SVG\u2019s.<\/p>\n
JavaScript<\/p>\n
We use all sorts of frameworks, as there\u2019s a new one out every week and they\u2019re all\u00a0suitable for different tasks. A good JavaScript developer will know how <\/i>and when <\/i>to use\u00a0the appropriate framework. Things like code portability, maintainability (comment\u00a0your code!), degradation\/enhancement, and performance are also important factors we\u00a0look for in a good developer. We try and keep our code as modular as possible so they\u00a0can be reused from project to project, and we love to contribute to the open source\u00a0community when possible.<\/p>\n
CSS<\/p>\n
You are well-versed in SASS, LESS, Stylus or any other CSS preprocessing language.\u00a0You have a handful of shortcuts and you like to push the envelope with the latest that\u00a0CSS can do in modern browsers, including animation.<\/p>\n
Server-side<\/p>\n
We like our front-end developers to have a decent amount of experience in a server-side\u00a0programming language of their choice, albeit PHP, NodeJS, Python, or Ruby.<\/p>\n
