Responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborating with program staff to create a unique and fun website that will appeal to children, parents, and educators.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that the website is visually and conceptually aligned with all elements of the Forbidden City program.<\/li>\n<li>Proactively advise staff on the development of suitable web content, style, and flow of web pages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>General Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Individuals who wish to apply for this position should have experience creating professional websites aimed at children and families; a high attention to detail; an excellent design aesthetic; and the ability to work independently in a timely manner. A familiarity with Chinese culture and\/or non-profits is a plus. Additional requirements are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate degree in a related field<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated and team oriented<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with high-profile and time-sensitive projects<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to troubleshoot and be solution oriented<\/li>\n<li>Solid portfolio of great web design work<\/li>\n<li>Solid knowledge of such UX practices as user flows, site mapping, interaction design, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to write HTML 5\/CSS<\/li>\n<li>Advanced knowledge of 1 or more CMS platforms (Drupal, Joomla, WordPress) required<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Javascript and MySQL\/PHP are required<\/li>\n<li>Must have advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite<\/li>\n<li>A working knowledge integrating multimedia desired<\/li>\n<li>Experience designing interactive web experiences is a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please send a cover letter (with hourly or project rate requirements and links to an online portfolio or web projects) and resume to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:hr@chinainstitute.org\" target=\"_blank\">hr@chinainstitute.org<\/a>, with the subject \u201cWeb Designer\u201d.
