ONLINE MANAGER JULY 1 2013<\/p>\n
The New Museum seeks an Online Manager to be responsible for the coordination and management of all content on New Museum\u2019s website and e-communcations. The Online Manager works closely with the Editor and Graphic Designer and reports to the Marketing Director. Position starts early August.<\/p>\n
Update + steward newmuseum.org<\/p>\n
o Maintain dynamic homepage that showcases highlights at the Museum<\/p>\n
o Add new content (events, exhibitions, blog posts, etc.)<\/p>\n
o Exhibition pages: Add and update media as it becomes available, (installation shots, press releases, audio guides, video,tweets\/hashtags, etc.)<\/p>\n
o Work with each department to make sure their page(s) is current and relevant<\/p>\n
o Proofread\/ double check all updates to website<\/p>\n
o Manage CMS access<\/p>\n
Update + steward ideas-city.org<\/p>\n
o Work with Kettle (New Museum\u2019s web agency) to build on and improve current site<\/p>\n
o Update and steward content<\/p>\n

Manage \/ oversee New Museum MailChimp account<\/p>\n
o Oversee all MailChimp use within the Museum
\n(grant appropriate access levels to those who need)<\/p>\n
o Monitor statistics for account and for each list;
\nmake recommendations for successful email campaigns<\/p>\n
o Manage list + email campaign organization<\/p>\n
o Develop + manage timelines for e-communications (e-newsletters, e-vites, etc.)<\/p>\n
o Gather content and assemble bimonthly e-newsletters to New Museum News list<\/p>\n
o Proofread\/ double check all outgoing emails<\/p>\n
o Share campaign reports as necessary<\/p>\n
Additional responsibilities<\/p>\n
_ Proofread and copy edit texts for online platforms and some related printed materials<\/p>\n
\u2013 Update lobby screens with current exhibitions, and also for special events<\/p>\n
\u2013 Tumblr: update theme and customize code as necessary<\/p>\n
\u2013 Collect internal and external feedback on newmuseum.org and ideas-city.org and work with Kettle on improvements<\/p>\n
\u2013 Monitor analytics and make recommendations for generating site traffic<\/p>\n
\u2013 Work with Marketing Director to manage Google AdWords<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
Minimum 1-2 years of experience of various online platforms management; excellent writing and proofreading skills; and necessary back end skills for maintaining website and MailChimp. Strong HTML CSS knowledge, PHP a plus. Familiarity with version control systems SVN, GIT and unix shell, knowledge of AWS a plus. Strong knowledge of the contemporary art world preferred. She\/he must have exceptional organizational skills, proficency for internet culture and close familiarity with the tools and the landscape of the online world. Candidates who have worked in a contemporary art museum environment will be given preference. Candidate must have a BA in English or related field.<\/p>\n
