==DERI Research Associate \/ Post Doc in User Experience & Persuasive Technology for Energy Management==\r\n\r\nThe Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) is one of the largest semantic research organisations in the world. In collaboration with our industrial partner the successful applicant will play a key role in making next-generation semantic computing systems a reality by\r\nresearching smart energy management systems. \r\n\r\nThe position focuses on user experience & persuasive technology for\r\nsituation awareness in the energy management domain.\r\n\r\nInterested Applicants should be capable of demonstrating:\r\n* An ability to work in a team based environment\r\n* Excellent analysis and problem solving skills\r\n* Strong User Interface design, development & testing skills\r\n* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written\r\n* An ability to interact with both academic researchers and industrial practitioners\r\n* Ability to tackle wide and varied tasks\r\n* Creative Thinking\r\n\r\nThe applicant is expected to possess the solid experience using many of the following skills:\r\n\r\n* Third level degree in computer related discipline or strong background in information systems\/HCI\/Design\/UXD\r\n* Good knowledge of user experience including UI design principles\/patterns, user interaction models, user experience design, etc.\r\n* Knowledg!e of persuasive technology and interfaces for decision support\r\n\r\nAdditional Desirable Experience & Background (inc. qualifications):\r\n\r\n* A good record of scientific publication in workshops, conferences, journals and book chapters.\r\n* Experience\/Knowledge of Energy Management Systems\r\n* Experience\/Knowledge of Real-time Information Visualization\r\n* Experience with Semantic Web\/Linked Data technologies (e.g. RDF, OWL, SPARQL)\r\n* A relevant post graduate degree (MSc, PhD) or relevant industrial experience\r\n\r\n\r\nThe position is full-time, located at DERI Galway. The duration of the positions will be for 12 months in the first instance.\r\n\r\nThe salary will be in the range \u20ac29,342\u2014\u20ac46,255, depending on qualifications and experience.
