The Web\u00a0Intern\u00a0will have the opportunity to contribute creatively to a constantly evolving, highly-visited humanitarian website while improving his\/her design, web and multimedia skills. An individual looking to put an Interactive Design or Web\/Creative Technology degree to work for a good cause and to learn more about the web will be perfectly suited for this position. The selected candidate must be willing to commit to this internship for the duration of the semester.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><b>Duties:<\/b>\u00a0The Web\u00a0Intern\u00a0will be expected to perform the following tasks:<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Design web layouts, graphics, banners, and e-mail templates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Post content to website regularly and assist with daily tasks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Learn or improve understanding of the Drupal CMS, including contributing to content management, site building, and maintenance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor and produce web metrics<\/li>\n<li>Participate in discussions regarding site development and growth<\/li>\n<li>Create and optimize content for MSF&#8217;s social media accounts<\/li>\n<li>Edit multimedia files, including slideshows, audio and video<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><b>Required Skills:<\/b><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Expertise in Photoshop and other popular visual design tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Previous use and understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS), such as WordPress or (especially) Drupal<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use HTML and CSS to create and style Web pages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of video editing programs<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Ability to troubleshoot one&#8217;s own work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to prioritize tasks and manage own time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><b>Preferred Skills:<\/b><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Comfortable working on both PC and Mac platforms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Knowledge of or skills in PHP and Javascript coding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Internship\u00a0is part time (approximately 20 hours per week) and is paid at $10\/hr.
