Slate<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is hiring a technology blogger to contribute to \u201cFuture Tense<\/a>,\u201d our blog about emerging technologies and their impact on society and public policy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The blogger will be responsible for writing\u00a0at least<\/em>\u00a0three posts a day on topics like technology policy, social media, cybersecurity, privacy, and tech culture. You\u2019ll also cover the intersection of science and technology, like geoengineering, synthetic biology, and nanotechnology. We don\u2019t review gadgets, but we do discuss how they change our lives. You\u2019ll need to be able to spot great stories before everyone else\u2014and you should have sharp opinions about them, too. It\u2019s essential that you be able to write clearly and quickly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We strongly prefer applicants who could work from\u00a0Slate<\/em><\/strong>\u2019s New York or Washington, D.C. offices but will consider great remote candidates as well. This is a contract position.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To apply, please send a cover letter; a r\u00e9sum\u00e9; three clips or writing samples (Word docs preferred), and a critique of\u00a0Slate<\/em><\/strong>\u2019s technology coverage (no more than 400 words) via\u00a0this posting<\/a>. Applications are due Tuesday, Oct. 1.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
