But above all, we hope you enjoy\u00a0working here.<\/p>\n<p>We aim to be a creative, commercially sound and collaborative business \u2013 if you are\u00a0ever in any doubt about anything\u2026Ask!!!<\/p>\n<p>JOB SUMMARY<\/p>\n<p>This is a critical role within the Cake team and acts as a foundation for decision\u00a0making, pitching and impressing our clients.<\/p>\n<p>As a Social Marketing Researcher and Analyst, we look to you to offer insight\u00a0across all the work Cake carries out from conception to delivery. You need to\u00a0have a solid grasp of all the possible tools out there that help us find data and\u00a0information about what people think, say, share and do.<\/p>\n<p>You provide the ground research and analysis to support everything we do:\u00a0research for pitches, social listening for existing clients, data gathering for any\u00a0Cake project in any discipline<\/p>\n<p>You should be a sponge for new information \u2013 what you\u2019re learning at Cake\u00a0and what you\u2019re experiencing across the social web. Your expertise must be\u00a0unsurpassed in what\u2019s new online right now and especially how brands are\u00a0using social media.<\/p>\n<p>PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must have a \u2018can do\u2019, optimistic attitude.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must be personable, well presented and pro-active.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must possess first-rate communication skills \u2013 in particular great writing\u00a0skills appropriate for varied audiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must have an inquisitive mind and good self awareness<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must have the ability to use initiative and confidence to act.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must be organized, able to organize and able to prioritize.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must be assertive and able to shout when problems are looming.<\/p>\n<p>KEY COMPETENCIES<\/p>\n<p><strong>Solid research skills<\/strong> \u2013 knowing where to look and what you are looking for by\u00a0understanding what the client\u2019s problem is and where we might find answers. \u00a0Great gasp of research methodologies and data mining tools.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outstanding numeracy and data handling<\/strong> \u2013 Clients expect us to be on top of the\u00a0data more than they are. You must be able to take large amounts of data or\u00a0information from multiple sources and digest what is hidden within.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Effective Communication Skills<\/strong> &#8211; You will need to demonstrate your exceptional\u00a0communication skills, instilling confidence in others with regard to your\u00a0knowledge, competency and ability to deliver. You need to translate complex\u00a0numbers into useful insights (in partnership with a strategist) and lay out the\u00a0information in a clear and usable way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planning and Organization<\/strong> \u2013 The ability to ensure that with each project you\u00a0have established an agreed course of action for yourself to make sure you are\u00a0on top of your to do list \u2013 in fact to make sure you HAVE a to do list!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Industry Knowledge and Expertise<\/strong> &#8211; This role will require you to become\u00a0knowledgeable about a range of topics and sectors \u2013 from retail to telecoms\u00a0to fashion and beyond \u2013you will also need to fully up to date and informed on\u00a0trends, statistics and emerging social media platforms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Creative Problem Solving<\/strong> &#8211; You will need to concentrate on your ability to think\u00a0creatively and see opportunities to explore new ways of doing things. Get\u00a0involved in EVERY brainstorm you can. NEVER attend a meeting without a\u00a0notebook.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team Work<\/strong> \u2013 See where you fit in and make sure you deliver. Lots of work will\u00a0tumble to you \u2013 pick it up and support your team. They will support you too and\u00a0you should expect to be treated fairly and work collaboratively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tolerance of Stress<\/strong> &#8211; You will need to learn strategies to enable you to maintain\u00a0effective performance while under pressure focusing on the ability to make\u00a0controlled responses during stressful or pressurized situations.<\/p>\n<p>SPECIFIC CONTENT OF YOUR ROLE<\/p>\n<p>The nature of Cake\u2019s business requires a high level of flexibility, common sense\u00a0and versatility. While the specific content of your role is clearly defined, the\u00a0nature of the demands placed on us and the creativity of our campaigns means\u00a0that the role will evolve over time and needs a \u2018can do\u2019 approach to picking\u00a0projects up and managing well to make them happen.<\/p>\n<p>You must become a trusted source of information for the whole Cake team\u00a0and an expert that client\u2019s trust to provide knowledge and information that can\u00a0impact their business.<\/p>\n<p>We use analytics to inform:<\/p>\n<p>(a) plans that we carry out in a broad sense \u2013 from apps we build to\u00a0conversations we manage to events we create<\/p>\n<p>(b) content that we or our clients create (e.g. a client may require us to listen\u00a0to social conversations continuously in order to help them determine\u00a0what video, white paper, product to release or create)<\/p>\n<p>Some of your day-to-day duties:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Using social listening technologies \u2013 BrandWatch, Radian 6, Sysomos,\u00a0Google Analytics, HootSuite, Facebook Insights\u2026 and many more as this\u00a0landscape is changing rapidly<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Gathering data and then analyzing this data for insights we can use to\u00a0inform creative ideas or content creation<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Using a range of data sources (in partnership with Havas Media), as well\u00a0as your own desk research, to glean information and evidence that helps\u00a0us build strong strategies for our clients campaigns<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Staying abreast of new technology platforms \u2013 doing your own research,\u00a0reading a lot, exploring online and sharing your findings<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Regularly attending vendor meetings set up at the office<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Attending client meetings to present findings<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Drafting presentations and papers that showcase insights<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Monthly report writing on live campaigns<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Contributing to the \u2018Cool Digital\u2019 community to keep the agency abreast of\u00a0innovations in social and online<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Making recommendations to team and clients on a regular basis (daily)\u00a0about how we could be managing their social marketing activity and\u00a0innovative in the space<\/p>\n<p>FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY<\/p>\n<p>As a team member at Cake, your senior managers will hold the full picture\u00a0but your understanding of forecasting income for projects or clients needs to\u00a0develop now as this is key to both to the smooth running of your projects but\u00a0also to the effective financial management of Cake as a business.<\/p>\n<p>We do not expect you to have full accountability for the financials but we do\u00a0expect you to learn, absorb and improve your understanding in this area.<\/p>\n<p>Complete transparency is required and you must provide the finance team with\u00a0the information that they need when they require it in order for them to be able\u00a0to correctly monitor financial expenditure\/fee income\/business and departmental\u00a0growth.<\/p>\n<p>GROWTH IN YOUR ROLE<\/p>\n<p>Apart from fulfilling your duties as laid out above to the best of your abilities you\u00a0will also need to achieve excellence in these areas to move yourself up to the\u00a0next level.<\/p>\n<p>Promotion for you would be to Senior Social Marketing Analyst and that really\u00a0requires you to harness a much \u2018bigger picture\u2019 view of both your clients and\u00a0Cake as a whole, provide consistently brilliant thinking and analysis and display\u00a0an appetite for a wider remit within the team.<\/p>\n<p>Prove you have the trust not only of your team but of your clients and that they\u00a0feel able to delegate tasks and ask for your involvement in the new business\u00a0and pitch process needs to have been demonstrated successfully before\u00a0promotion.<\/p>\n<p>YOUR MANAGEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Your work will be formally reviewed every 12 months with interim check-ins and\u00a0reviews set up along the way.<\/p>\n<p>Your development is ongoing and we\u2019d expect you to be keen to hear feedback\u00a0on how you\u2019re doing and where you can improve.
